HISTORY OF BARANGAY PANLAUTAN

Before the Spanish Regime, Barangay Panlautan was very sparely populated at that time. A man could own large tracts of land. Since that, there was a man named “UTAN” when strangers came and asked the name of the place. The man answered UTAN. So, that was the root word which refers to the name of the owner of the biggest land in the place.

Many strangers came to visit and observe that people living their cooked cassava and ate it like a PAN or BREAD. So that, they add the Pan to Utan to make it nice to say they called it PANLAUTAN and, this is now the real named of our place as what strangers baptized and discover the name of the place.
